The Bakken Basin oil fields range from Northwest North Dakota into adjoining areas of Montana and Saskatchewan. These open prairies are sparsely populated with ranchers, farmers, Native Americans, and now: oil workers. Some gain, some lose from the oil development, but their lives and the hauntingly beautiful prairies they occupy are forever altered.
